* What are the differences between Frog and Toad?

  • Frogs have smooth and slimy skin.
  • Frogs have longer legs.
  • Frogs can hop and jump due to long legs.
  • Frog eggs are in clumps.
  • Frogs come in bright colours.
  • Frogs live in water.
  • Frogs have teeth in upper jaw.
  • Toads have dry and rough skin.
  • Toads have shorter legs.
  • Toads usually walk and crawl.
  • Toad eggs are laid in long ribbons.
  • Toads are dull compared to frogs.
  • Toads live on land.
  • Toads do not have teeth.

Both frogs and toads lay eggs in water. Both frogs and toads can have poisonous skin

* What are the differences between Hare and Rabbit?

  • Hares are larger in size.
  • Hares have longer legs and ears.
  • Hares are solitary animals.
  • Hares live in nests above the ground.
  • Hares eat hard foods like twigs and bark.
  • Baby hares are born with fur and can see.
  • Rabbits are smaller in size compared to hares.
  • Rabbits have shorter legs and ears.
  • Rabbits live in groups.
  • Rabbits live in burrows below the ground.
  • Rabbits eat soft foods like grass, soft roots like carrot.

* What are the differences between Cheetah and Leopard?

  • Cheetahs have a black line starting from each eye, that goes down till the mouth.
  • They have a body that is thin and streamlined.
  • Their claws do not retract.
  • Cheetahs usually hunt during the day.
  • Spots on the fur of cheetahs are solid round or oval in shape.
  • They can run very fast, and are the fastest land animals with speeds up to 120 km/hour.

  • Leopards do not have such lines or markings on their face.
  • They have a short, bulky body.
  • Their claws retract just like in household cats.
  • Leopards prefer to hunt during the night.

  • Plant cells have a cell wall made of cellulose.
  • The shape of plant cells are square or rectangular.
  • They have fewer number of mitochondria.
  • They have autotrophic nutrition (organism preparing food using chemicals and sunlight).
  • They have chloroplasts to enable photosynthesis.
  • Animal cells do not have cell wall.
  • The shape of animal cells is irregular.
  • They have more number of mitochondria.
  • They have heterotrophic nutrition (organism depending on others like plants for food).

* What are the differences between Arteries and Veins?

  • Arteries carry blood away from the heart.
  • Arteries carry blood rich with oxygen (oxygenated).
  • They have a thick layer of muscle.
  • They have no valves except in the pulmonary artery.
  • They are deep inside the muscles.
  • Veins carry blood towards the heart.
  • Veins carry blood deficient in oxygen (deoxygenated).

* What are the differences between Heart Failure, Heart Attack and Cardiac Arrest?

  • Heart failure is when the heart fails to circulate blood properly
  • Heart fails when heart muscles are weak to pump the required amount of blood.
  • Some causes are obesity, high blood pressure, damaged heart muscle.
  • Rapid breath, nausea, dizziness are some of the symptoms of heart failure.
  • Change in lifestyle, heart transplant are some treatments and cures.
  • If treated properly, can be managed well.
  • Heart attack is when blood cannot reach the heart.
  • Happens when one of the coronary arteries get blocked, heart muscles do not get blood and oxygen, leading to heart attack.
  • Some causes are blood clot, plaque buildup in arteries.
  • Chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue are some of the symptoms of heart attack.
  • Medical treatment to restore blood supply can prevent death.
  • If not treated in time, can be life-threatening.
  • Cardiac arrest is the sudden stopping of the heart.
  • Heart attacks can lead to cardiac arrest.
  • Some causes are heart disease, sudden trauma, shock, electric shock.
  • Dizziness, loss of consciousness, sudden collapse are some of the symptoms of cardiac arrest.
  • Immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation to prevent death.
  • It is fatal if not treated within minutes.
